A Little About Me

My name is Eva. I am a mother of two and live in a rural area, in Canada, not far from the nations capital.

Prior to deciding to take my creative talents to the next level, I worked in the IT field, as a Systems Administrator for different companies, including; Compaq Computer Corp, but that was so long ago, any tech knowledge I did have is long gone. My health deteriorated, and at that point I decided that I needed a change of scene, I wanted to do something I was passionate about. After much study and hard work, I became a qualified Auslan (Australian Sign Language) interpreter. I did that for a time & thoroughly enjoyed it. Then, the travel bug hit, so with my other half, we decided to pack up and do six months travel through Asia, on our way to Canada, where we resettled, and started yet another chapter together, introducing two little people into our story.

I had actually hoped to continue working as an interpreter, but I couldn’t find a way to make it work, as I needed to retrain & finding time to do so with two little ones, (that I look after full time), plus, with my health not being the best, I had to think of other options.

I wanted to do something & I was getting a few requests from people to make things for them, so I went with it. From a few requests, I started going to markets, at first some fairly small ones, and then larger events with attendance numbers over five thousand. This is where so many, met me. However, just prior to COVID, it became clear that this would have to change & I tried to put more effort into this website.

I love being able to create so many new and wonderful things, especially my scrappie critters. I am passionate about upcycling & will try to include reclaimed or upcycled materials, in my creations where possible. All of my scraps are collected & reused in some way, so that there is little to no waste. Everything is handmade by me, with a lot of love and attention.
